The driver could hardly escape by violent use of force because the electric doorlocks were blocked. The thing burnt like a tank's ready-rack that had been hit. Must have been quite traumatizing to be trapped in the car while it goes ablaze and the doors could not be opened. I really felt uncomfortable when reading the details.

Better fall out of a car in midair.
