I hope some of you can take benefit from this. Want to point your attention to salt, since I made so dramatically good experiences with it this year.
I red his book (in English, when I was finished I learned that it already was available in German...). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/04...c7018e3386cbe3 Boosting my salt consummation was one of the best things for my health I ever did, I have cleared/abandoned now two medical drugs I took before, and lowered the dose of two others by one half, while maintaining good health parameters (namely blood pressure) and even fundamentally improved one very signficiantly (lowering heart rate from insane levels to normal ones: for the first time ever in my life). Problems with ongoing degradation of my neural system also have slowed down. The reductions in meds may not be exclusively to salt reduction (but due to other supplementations I take), though the drop in heart rate most likely is. Listen to the man, and read his book on salt, "The Salt Fix". He has done his homework, really, 50 of the 250 pages are nothign but sources for studies and articles formt he past 100 years (not quotes, just the sources...). Very thorough analysis of the literature and research done on salt since 1904. BE READY TO BE SHOCKED. DiNicolantonio is cardiovascular research scientist and doctor of pharmacy. He works at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, has authored over 200 scientific articles, is senior editor to BMJ's Open Heart Journal, and a much asked-for nutrition expert, namely on sugar and salt. I know that what he says - by full 180° the opposite of what you have been told all your life about how healthy low salt is - must feel wrong and counter-intuitive to you, necessarily. Myself, I never cared for salt limitation, but I now add an extra salt boost to my breakfast of 3-4 grams. My blood pressure stayed low where it was, but I could halve the doses of two blood pressure drugs and abandoned the third. My heart rate is down from insane levels to now nroaml levels - for the first tiem ever in my life. I should have known about the salt fix 25 years ago when I travelled those hot countries - the heat really gave me hell, the sweat production and loss of ie rlas was sometimes threatenign to me. I am certain that with the kowledge I have now and the nutritional status I have now, I would stand it much better, the heat and the extreme sweating and dehydration. The fundamentla thirst wa snot so much a cravign for water - but a craving for salt, I now know. Sounds coutner-intuitive? Read the book, it makes perfect sense. The more I drankl the more thirst I had. Because I did not drank salty fluids (not too salty fluids, of course, with only ocean water alone you still do not get too far...) Well, you can read it yourself. Low salt makes you sick. Low salt sends you to an earlier grave. Deal with it: we all and you have been lied to all our lives long. (Its not the only food lie, I tell you). The book is a well-researched revelation of how criminally abused science can be run, manipulative and data-corrupting. The methodology of it is beyond question - in honest hands. Those who want to abuse it, will find it easy to do so, however, and he history of Salt Wars is filled with dark Sith lords. And of course the sugar industry also pays a dominant role in the demonisation of salt, to distract from the really dangerous white crystal that there is: not salt, but refined sugar. Before you stand up and just claim that DiNicolantonio all got it wrong, make sure you can even qualify to meet him on his knowledge level. Chances are you can't. He got his homework done, really. Have a loose hand with the shaker, if your body signals you by appetit for salt that he wants it. ![]() I have now begun to read his book on oil and fat. I am already perplexed again. After 15 pages. A brief summary of some very major, relevant points for those understanding German, with ten minutes it also is the much shorter video. I think I linked it in the Wuhan thread before, or at least I planned to do it. Its an excerpt from a congress lecture where he talks just about salt. Should make you think if you believe you know that low salt is good and more salt is unhealthy. The ordinary doctor not having learned on nutrition beyond university's curriculum, most likely will not know all this, and stick to an old, and wrong!!!, paradigm that bases on manipulated science and lies. Dont take such a doctor's word as holy gospel. Listen to what he has to say and then check back how the high-salt-school does answer to his concerns. Then decide. But do not just blindly trust your doc on this. If all he knows about it is what they told him when he studied medicine, he cannot and he will not know this. If you get hit by hunger attacks for sweets, eat salty stuff. I can confirm from own experience now that if you drive up your salt supply, your appetite for "sweet" goes down, and disappears. That is because salt, sugar and drugs like cocaine and heroine all run by and get influenced through one and the same reward system in the brain. If you are low on salt, your internal salt detector turns more sensitive by turning on the reward system so that you get motivated to search for salt , and since you deny yourself salt intake, it instead takes sugar and drugs as prey, and you start dreaming of gettin g that chocolate bar, no matter what.... And from there on you go into a vicious circle. This already starts in your mothers womb, when she is running a low salt food regime - and by that programs your reward centre to crave for surrogate drugs later in your life when you got born! Sugar. Cocaine. Heroine. Its all the same neural mechanisms in the brain, its all the same brain structures getting active here. Thats why so many pregnant women report to have times when they almost desperately crave for salty taste.

I'm not arguing with the above because I'm obviously no expert but I took the decision many years ago not to add salt to my meals rather than just consume what was already in the food preparation, on the grounds/fears of heart disease.
I do more than make up for it though with the amount of pepper I consume. |

I am not telling you what to do and what not to do, but from my view you probably do, in the intention to serve your health, great harm to your longterm health. Many people think they do something good for their heart and cardiovascular system by lowering salt. Thids is what we are beign told since over half a century. But from WW2 on there have been many study results that right the opposite is the case. Like also many think it helps diabetes to lower salt - while in fact lowering salt increases insuline resistence. Please try to understand that we are dealing with a history of flawed narration here, many studies that were faulty and misinterpreted or who had their data corrupted to support the "fairy tale" of the bad salt and that we must lower it. And then there was pkenty of lobbyism at work, and ignorrance. Maybe you should read the book, which is very readable, btw. The man has extremely strong arguments, and he knows the literature on salt, literally every page of it, it seems. And the low-salt regime is filled with very dubious experimentators who killed quite a good amount of their subjects, and even gene-manipulated their rats to make them genetically coded to show the result that were wanted to be shown, while natural bred rats showed exactly the opposite. But rats are salt resitence, as are 80% of humans and still 55-60% of humans with hypertension, btw. Only a very few some people react with increases or decreases in blood pressure when changign their salt intake - and these changes are almost always not-signficant, too small. In case of reuciuton of saltl., rhy are beign paid for with increase of perihery blood vessel resistance and huge increases in heart rate, and this now is a very severe health risk. Whereas in many countries with salt-rich food habits you can show that blood pressure is the lower the more salt people eat (because it is not about how much salt they eat, but what healthy or unhealthy food stuff they eat it with! ![]() The message is: the history of the low-salt narration is a lie. Like "tobacco is harmless". "Rfined sugar is healthy". "Fat makes people fat". Al, thatg were intentional lies, so is the salt lie. First it were perverted egos not accepting that study results showed their claim that low salt reduces blood pressure was unsustainable, and like Trump they just kept on claiming the opposite, that it does. There is no substantial evidence supporting this!! Next came the sugar industry trying to distract from the evils of sugar crystals, by demonising salt crystals. Chapter 4 is page 66-90, and the title is "What REALLY causes heart desease". Written for you, Jim. ![]() ![]() Just think of this: we have these rules on avoiding salt, eating vegetables, avoid fats, use plant seed oils, and so forth. Still chronic deseases became epidemic, people turned fatter and fatter, diabetes is one of the worst health problems, auto-immune reactiosn also are on the brink of turning epidemic. How could this be if the food rules they told us were so true and healthy? Also think of this: our health system are no health systems, but desease systems, they live by and depend on a rich pool of sick people putting money into it and keepingm the money going around. A healthy population would let it collapse, adn the pharmaceuticla industry as well. There is no economic interest in letting the population become free of conditions where they must buy expensive medication anymore. 4.6 stars at UK Amazon in 500+ reviews. Its a very comfrotable reading, ym mum was so stunned, she red it in one wooosh in one afternoon and one evening. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Salt-Fix-Ex...5815796&sr=8-1 Quote:
Okay guys, I talked my talk, and now I'm done. Now its your choice wanting to learn more about it, or to refuse it. What you gain by your choice, is yours. And what you lose by your choice is your loss as well. This book may save your health and life, it is affordable, and it reads very well and is very competendly authored. I made it known to my own doc. He meanwhile has thanked me for it, after first being sceptical. - Stay healthy. ![]()

I'm surprised because I have also throughout my life heard, that to much salt is absolutely not good for your heart.

What the industry does to process food, it doe snot do for the benefit of the consumer, but for the benefit of the industry'S needs (processing, transportation, storage, profit "optimization"...) There are so many lies n food and nutritions out there, and so much infantile nonsense as well. I take an egg for breakfast, and roll it in 3 grams of salt, if not more, and then eat it. Its an extra boost of salt, it makes a wamr and comfrotable feel in the stomach, after a while I get more awaken, clear in the head, I eat mess (whcih is good cinsideirng my weight), have less appetite on sweets, sweat mjuch less (alwaysa problem for me), and most importantly, my heart rate stays way< down at 75 instead of going to 95-100 - at rest. I take that salt additonal to the normal ordinary salt sonsummation for preoparig the wearm meal in the eveing, and other things. It is additional to the other stuff. Interestingly, most people on all contioents and of all ethnciities have an inbuild salt intake treshold per day beyond which they feel less and less appetite for salt, this treshhold is in the range of 3-4 grams. I say: listenj to your body: if he wants mroe, give it to him, if he signals waning interest, stop. Do not eat salt (or drink water...) accoridng to the clock, or tables. Your body knwos best. Listen to him. he is the op0tmal preicisonn instrjmenbt to let you kinow whether your need some oif iot or not, and he has amazing techniques to build reserves and access them or to reprocess salts for multiple turns of use. He is a master at these mind of things. What the body is not so good at, is managing surplus in resssources. Thats why so many of us are fat.

![]() Jim; Agreed. I did the same many years ago. In the US, we get more than enough "salt" in any type of pre-prepared or comfort food. If you plan to eat a 100% natural diet using foods that haven't been "enhanced", add salt. If you live in the world the rest of us are stuck with, just buy an order of fries or a bag of chips/crisps. |

You guys wonder why you get ill when eating your salt with stuff like this? Fries, chips, popcorn? In korea, japan, they eat much more salt - but with fresh and fermented vegetable, sea fish, kelp, healthier fats, as a result they do not suffer as much from deseases that westerners and the WHO wrongly associate with salt.
Its not the salt that makes you sick. Its the stuff you eat it with. Bad food. Too many carbohydrates, bad fats, refindd sugar, glucose, corn syrup, heavily processed food. Or as i say, industrial waste. Look around and see how many fat people there now are. And that fatness triggers a whole rattail of problems. And never forget again, that low salt increases insuline resistence. Now add 1 and 1 together. Fatness. Insuline resistence. (that is not to say you can compensate for being fat by eating salt.)

Big mistake, always.
![]() And never just trust government's risk assessment agencies of any sorts, they mostly are in the pockets of industrial and business lobbies. Even international bodies like the WHO have been corrupted to a degree where I see them as absolutely untrustworthy now. To some degree the various meta analysis run by the Cochrane Foundation have some value, and often surprising and officially unwanted implications. If available on a topic of interest, these are what I always include in considerations. But untouchable even these are not, of course. And an anecdote. A few days ago I saw my dental cleaning specialist. We have gotten quite close over the past 5 years, and not only does she do a very good job, but we also like each other and thus chat a bit as well when I see her twice a year. And while I made her aware of my improved health status in my mouth and with my teeth's issues, we chatted on nutrition and iodine and corona and all that, and she told me she knew this friend of hers, for 25 years, since her sschool years, and he always was very acitve in sports and healthy, but also did not miss any party and never said no to smoking, drinking a lot and all that. And then he got a diagnosis for pancreatic cancer. We all know what that means, chances are miserable. He then went through several chemo therapies, surgery and all that stuff, and finally he was finished and done and all therapeutic efforts ended when scans showed that he had metastases all over in his body, and they told him its game over, he had to die in the forseeable future. Next he had a lucky random meeting with a pharmacists, and as it happens I know the man by his name, three of his books are on my shelve, he is an expert for micro nutrition and has founded an institute for researchign them, he is one of the leading European experts for this stuff. Talking of the world beign a village! And he met the friend of my dental cleaner, and they talked, and he made the man changing his food habits from top to bottom, he completely revamped the house, so to speak. The death candidate had nothing to lose anymore, desperate grapped for every straw somebody was offering him. Over one year later he was still alive and went to see his old doctor. The doc was surprised that he was still around. They did a new series of scans that were so stunning that the images madethe round and even found the way to several hospitals and experts there: he was free of all metastases. - Well, that is a story to tell. She told me the man does not expect to live forever, maybe he will nevertehless die earlier than would have been needed, but he already has won unexpected amounts of bonus time, is free of pain and suffering, and still has no metastases. Wowh. You see, guys, the Western medicine is great in dealing with accute emergencies and dealing with symptoms, but it is a desaster, an almost complete fail, when it comes to healing the origins of symptoms. Pharmaceutical companies are not intersted in them, there is no money to be made this way. Doctors are not beign educated at university to focus on the roots and causes of deseases, they get trained to suppress symptoms only. Often these symptoms even are tools of the body to try healign himself, high temerature durign fever for exmaple. In the end, I understand mroe and more that it is not the chemcial gent that heals, but the body heals itself. We are well advised to give it the tools, in nutrients, that he needs for that job. But in Wetsern medicine, almost always the prescription of medicla drugs goes at the cost of more health loss due to these drugs having unwanted interactions with other drugs, or side effects by themselves. In germany, old people in care taking facilities on avergae are being drugged with 9-11 meds per day, all of them very long in lists of complications and side-effects, most of them being nutrient thieves, but the food served usually is lousy. Half of the meds are beign given to just treat the interactions and side effect symptoms of the original drugs being prescribed. And then we wonder why our old in nursing homes die like the flies when Corona finds entracy...? Its not just Vitamine-D deficiency, you better believe that! Corn syrup. Refined sugar. A completely distorted understanding of good versus bad fats, good versus bad cholesterione and cholesterol. Highly processed, nutrient-reduced high calory food. Plenty of poisons and toxic agents, partially form the fields, partially from the the environment, partially from adding chemical agents during processing the food that do not serve the interest of the consumer, but the needs of the industry. Can somebody please explain why we no must be given natrium-ferro-cyanid in industrial salt, please? Why in the US Brom still is allowed to be used in medication? All the many artifical chemical agents beign added to conserve food in a way that costs one cent less than a less critical method? There is a German proverb, Du bist was Du isst: you are what you eat. What goes in, is what forms oyu up, and what sooner or later will go out again. The drug you take, the medication, does not just disappear when you swallow it and store it in your body. It leaves the body sooner or later, it goes into the waste disposal, into the water, and back onto the fields. It does not just magically disappear. The US wants to enforce access to European markets with its desastrous glucose and corn syrup. Why dont they just drop chemical bombs on Europe? Highly toxic agents that accelerates the speed by which people are turned into diabetic fat balls, its far more toxic than white sugar alone - and that already is bad enough. You people are afraid of the wrong white crystal. You should be afraid of white sugar, not of white salt. You could delete sugar completely, and you will still live on, probabyl healthier and longer. Limit salt, and you become weak, you become ill, and you die early. You are afraid of the wrong threats. 9 out of 10 of us do not need less but more salt. More iodine, not less iodine. Same for selene. Magnesium. Zinc. Vitmaine B complex. Vitamine D. Vitamine A. Most of us have a Omega 6 to Omega 3 balance of 30:1 to 60:1. It should not exceed 3:1, while our ancestors most liekly had it between 3:1 to 1:1. Most people do not even know what Q10 is, and what it does and why ATP is so relevant for us - most people know this not although their cell's mitochondrias produce the equivalent to the body'S own weight in ATP every single day! You should know these things, for the same reason why you know that you need oxygene. All these deficits do not serve our health interest. But they wonderfully serve the interest of the industrial food industry and the pharmaceutical industry. Now do the math.
