Hey everyone,
Long time lurker, first time poster. Had a question around integrating DBSM Das Boot sounds mod with TWOS. I have read the guide, and it seems like a dangerous game. There are a handful of awesome sounds I would love in my TWOS, including the alarm/submarine interior etc. Would it be as simple as swapping out WAV files in the SH5 data/audio folder and ensuring file names are the same? Or is that a no no? Any help would be awesome. Thanks team! |

Yes I’ve done the same, swapping out SH3 sounds and some modded sounds. The Alaaaaarm!! one is a bit mysterious. You’d think changing out crashdive would do it but it doesn’t. I managed to get all but crashdive to work. It’s a bit dramatic in going to periscope depth. Experiment but back up your files. Some of the sound files are under .ogg files too in Speech folder.
Thomssen’s sound pack for SH3 is a great resource. I wish I knew how to edit and link sounds like he did. There’s around 30 unique creaks and groans he put in when submerging to various depths. There's also a great file of his which I used for 'ambiance_Command-room_Q ' WAV file, which is map rustling and snatches of conversations etc. It really adds atmosphere and life to the boat.
