I am brand new at DW but used to play Silent Service and Hunter. I wonder, as I am creating my own missions for training, what would be the maximum range I would detect a Delta IV at 5 knots from a 688i TA system at 3 knots? It seems to me that I don't see anything on the waterfall unless I am at 5 nm.

At 3 kts your TA will scratch the bottom so range of detection will be zero :P
Btw if you wanna make mission just put your 688i and Delta IV (at speed 5 kts) and check it yourself because it depends on many factors: - sound propagation - SSP Type - bottom type - weather (rain) - sea state And of course mod you play (vanilla, RA or LwAmi) and which one TA you use port/starboard (TB-16/TB-23) ![]() |
