Brought to mind an old New Yorker cartoon (pre-moon landing) where a high society woman is seen telling a person: "Last year we went around the world. This year we want to go somewhere else."...

Well, if the world ends, people will be begging to go to space.
Which I doubt it will end in our lifetimes.
This honestly seems to me like a repeat of the 20th century, everything is a bit off, but this does seem a lot like it.

As my 5th Grade Social Studies teacher said," The reason we teach history is that history repeats itself. We must learn how to prevent those terrible things from happening again."

Not the exact words but that is close to what she said.
