have gotten back into this game I have GWE 3.0 with latest Commander ver.
When ever I start a career or even a singel mission game in 1943 and after the game crashes with 20 min at sea. Does anyone else have this problem?? |

Hi johnlax first things first GWE ? do you mean GWX3 if so
have you installed the 4gig patch and also the Commander Config patch for GWX. Also starting a Career off the bat in 1943 with the Commander Mod causes crashes from my experience but theres a work around start a campaign two years before say Jan-March 1941 then just go out on a shake down cruise for 24-48hrs around the bay of Biscay then return to base dock at your home port and come out of game. Then fire Commander mod back up alter days in port between patrols to 730 days as in two years restart your game though the Commander mod and bang your in you Uboat in the Channel coast ports Lorient Bordeaux of your Flotilla ect in 1943. Thats how we did it at the Steel Sharks Clan when ones Computer takes a dump and you have lost your Campaign files ect and you have to restart your campaign from say Jan-1943. 4Gig Patch Link https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/dow...o=file&id=2888 Commander Mod Config Link http://www.thegreywolves.com/downloads/

Thanks for the suggestion about a work around to the 1943 crash problem. Sadly we spent 5-6 hours taking your suggest to keep the U boat in port for approximately 730 days (starting in early 41) each time the crash occurs very quickly after the game loads up. After an exhausting few hours I have now started a new campaign in 1940 and the game is running fine and smooth.
Your suggestion was good but I am not sure it works. I would aprecicate any suggestions for a a fix. We did determine that I already have the 4 gb patch as the software informed us of that fact when we attempted to run is after the download |

we are s till working on this problem and will post mods while we figure this out. Spent the last couple of days starting new careers. We tried every month from Dec of 42 back up to jan 42. In all cases there was a crash at the end of the load up process from aug 42 and every month there after. We also found carreer could be started from July 42 all the way back to Jan of 42 with out fail.
We plan on reviewing MODs list and test each one I am using. I have a GWE ( X )gold 3.0 using commander latest version I run win 7 on a box with 8 mb ram Does anyone have any theories as to what aug 42 could mean in finding a solution ?? |

Hi Johnlax Re 4gig patch yes thats installed blackswnan what about the Commander mod config file for GWX do you have that installed.
Also I said start a career in 1941 do your shakedown cruise ect then relaunch your game in the commander mod after entering 730 days spent in port all should be fine . But doing that in 1942 it will crash im talking from experience when some of the guys at the steel sharks SH3 GWX Campaign gaming group fourty plus members from around the world had computer problems fried hardisk and no campaign backup. So they have reinstall everything operating system gpu drivers the whole nine yards our campaign wardate Oct-1942 so they have same problems your having so starting there campaign in Oct-1941 a quick shake down cruise back in port 365 days added to commander mod relaunch and bang your in your sub in 1942 in port.

blackswan40 failed again followed your suggestion to the tee but failed question at what point do i exit out back to commander? In my case I went out to sea in 1941 then returned to port after 48 hour skake down and then docked at lorient once I did that I exited game and went to commander to restart I put 720 days on days in port then i went out via commander and the next thing I know it says ship is in port in 1943 (720 days later) then fired it up and it loads up then quicky crashes! Question do I save the game while still on shake down trip or is that not required As I said I docked after my shakedown then exited to commander and set days in port to 720??

Hi Johnlax does your SH3 Folder where your Campaign game is installed look like this
with the Commander Mod Config File Exe. I started a new Career with Werner Winter October 1941 went out on shakedown cruise and came back to port Then I pressed escape docked at my home port and left the game fired up Commander Mod added 730 days to days spent in port and clicked apply Then I launched SH3 from the Commander mod yes the Commander Mod/SH3 can be tempramental at times it crashed on me at 90% along the red bar but on the fourth time success it worked in my Uboat in Port October 1943

Fwiw, I'll add this again. I can start a campaign in any month, any year of the war with the normal way of doing so. I.e. no saved game, add days, etc. needed.
It's not GWX; there is something in the install/mod list causing the problem.

That's quite a list. To be blunt, no wonder you're having problems. For starters I'm not familar with the WB's GWX campaign with VonDos' ships v2.7 mod. Is it based on GWX 3.0's campaign files ? If not, that could be a problem. Also, maybe I missed it, but do you have the GWX config. files for SH3 Commander installed ? If not, that is a problem.

thanks guys please feel free to make suggestions we plan on teaming up tommrow at noon and give this a real good effort to remove worthless or counter productive mods! We are hoping to locate some GWX files that do not appear in my shIII-GWX folder
Please suggest!! I am running a win 7 box with 8 mb ram! |
