Steam Version help and questions

I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I finally dived into a purchase of SH5 after watching countless hours of Taff in Exile on Youtube.

I purchased the steam edition but after my purchase, I have read that it does have issues with not loading.
I am sorry if this has been mentioned before on here, but I honestly could not find it.

Is the fix as simple as just installing Uplay? Or should I get a refund from Stream and purchase the Uplay edition?

Also, will JSGME work with the steam edition?
As I would like to instal the following MODs:
The Wolves of Steel 2.0.0

The Wolves of Steel 2.0.9e Update

TWoS Encrypted BdU

TWoS DeckGun Friendly Waves

TWoS Campaign Start_Type VIIB

TWoS FX_Incr. Flooding via Zones

TWoS Map Contact Colors

TWoS UI cmd_Radio Reports_Auto Target ID

Any help would be great thanks guys and girls.

Welcome to Subsim, PeteOZ, I hope that you found your way home after travelling in the land of Oz!

Anyways, if you do not have the Uplay version of SH5 and just the Steam version, you are gonna need to purchase the Uplay version because Steam REQUIRES Uplay as like a validator or something.

And if you want the most recent TWoS pack, install the 2.2.19 version.

The mods and JSGME should work with Steam. If you have any additional issues, you can PM me or post it here on this thread.

Thank you for the information.

I think a refund is in order on Steam then as I really don't want to have to purchase the game twice.

Does seem a bit weird (and almost wrong) that you have to have the Uplay version to play the steam version.

So I decided to give it a crack today before requesting a refund. At first, it would not load as it was trying to contact Uplay, so then all I had to do was install Uplay and SH5 loads via Uplay. Seems super weird but it works.

Looks like no need for a refund which is good.

Now I just have to load the Mods.

I do very much appreciate the advice on here
