I know it's been a long time but real life comes first these days. I had to share this with you all.
Now for the books.... both are paperbacks I came across a friend had stashed away. I never saw either of them until now. 1. U-505 by Rear Admiral (ret.) Daniel V. Gallery. He boarded and captured the 505 in June 1944. The first American officer to capture an enemy warship since 1815. It's his own story. It's the 5th printing in August 1972. Cost back then.... $.95. Oh how I wish it was a First Edition. 2. U-Boat Commander by Captain Gunther Prien. His own story of sinking the Royal Oak at Scapa Flow on August 14, 1939. 2nd printing in February 1976 at a cost of $1.25. Run Silent Run Deep! ![]()
