I don't know how many of you watched game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals but it was an epic battle. The St. Louis Blues won game 7 by 4-1 over the Boston Bruins.. The Blues defense stymied the Bruins until the the last minutes of the third period. This series was also marked by great goal tending on both teams. Both the Bruins and Blues played to a stalemate before last night showing great skill and drive to get to game 7.
Both teams played through injuries and adversity to get to the final dance. Both teams were truly the best of their conference and the Bruins could just as easily been the Stanley cup winner. The St. Louis Blues are one of 6 expansion teams added in 1967. This is also their first Stanley cup win. Congratulations to the St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins for a great season. I too was glad that the Blues finally won the cup. It was a great NHL series and I watched most all the Blues and the Boston Games throughout the entire series over the past months.
The Blues just outplayed Boston in game 7 which surprised me after the Bruins won game 6 so easily. Game 6 made me sick in the first period. I like to root for the underdogs and as was mentioned above the Blues have not won the cup ever before since they were formed in 1960. I got into Ice Hockey when I was in college during early 1970. I can remember watching the Bruin's play in the Stanley Cup Finals with Bobby Orr. Many of the guys in my frat house gathered in the basement to watch the game on TV. I helped get Ice Hockey going in the Tristate area where I live. First in KY and then in Southern IN. We now have a professional Ice Hockey Team in town which was a dream of mine over the past 40 years. Congratulations to the Blues and their great freshman or rookie goaltender who's no longer a rook but a Stanley Cup Champion. Go blues.

Congratulations to the St. Louis Blues. What a great sports story. Blues were 31st out of 31 teams on Jan 3. Now the champs.
Now that's hockey! ![]()

I'm not a sports fan of any kind, but news like this always transcends personal likes or dislikes. Congratulations St. Louis Blues!
Besides, I can't dislike any organization with "Blues" in the name. ![]()

Congrats to St. Louis Blues
I saw first period and about 10 minutes of the second. Then it was bedtime, way over the time. What I found interesting in this final, was that in 5 out of the 7 matches the away team won. Markus |
