The active sonar tone volume is very loud, even after I had turned down most in-game Sound level settings. Is there any way to tone it down without affecting all other game sounds?

I believe this works.
Open the DangerousWaters.ini file, and go down to the [Sound] section. This seems to reduce the ping sound, however I had to set it all the way down to 10 to lower the sound.. [Sound] .DisableSoundSupport No .DisableSounds No .SoundVolume 12 .DisableMusic Yes .MusicVolume 63 .DisableVoice No .VoiceVolume 63 .DisableAmbient No .AmbientVolume 15 .DisableRoomBG No .Disable3DSound Yes .AllowVoiceRec No .AlwaysOnVoiceRec No .UseSpecialFX Yes .MaxPingVolume 10 (This was set to 70 when I opened the file. Even tho the in-game setting is set to (1) this was still 70?) Doesnt make a lot of sense .SpeechLoadMode 0 .SoundLoggerOn 0 Last edited by A-Ganger; 04-29-19 at 10:56 PM. |

I tried that before but it seems it any setting 2 or more results in the same ping volume. I had to set it to 1, which turns it off entirely without affecting any other sound setting.
So now I refer to the active sonar screen from time to time to check instead. |

Maybe try boosting other sound levels relative to pings and then lower system sound. Hearing the pings is pretty important, in my opinion. You can instantly tell if it's a ship, submarine, dipping sonar, or torpedo pinging you.
