SH5 is nuts

Ok this is my problem steam kindly deletes my game then I deleted everything that was left over I do a fresh install then install TWOS 2.2.9 (I will not head to the Far East in a VIIC) anyway I go to the goblin and edit the VIIC/41 (Torpedo load, max speed, range, and diesel RPM [according to another mod]) then I start a new campaign put all the bells and whistles on the boat and depart from base I save the game in La Pallice like I always do then I come back the next day and the damn thing won’t load and if it does you can see the UI and it freezes completely what could be the problem no mods or addons installed only TWOS 2.2.9 any help is greatly appreciated

In your story I can see no obvious errors, except maybe:

a)
The modding of your VIIC/41 must be TWOS compatible, not every mod is compatible, so this could be the problem.

b)
If you save in port that's always ok, don't use autosaves. But the first time you start a main campaign chapter , you must save in bunker, quit to main menu and reload the save, or you will precisely have the trouble you mention, so I strongly guess it's this one.
