I know quite a lot has been done with hardcode fixes, and I appreciate the efforts put into that. I'm curious, though, if the following has any chance of being implemented as a hardcode patch.
The electric engines are incapable of being run while surfaced. Also, when crash diving, the diesels are shut down just as the u boat is submerging, and there is a bit of a delay before the electric engines turn on. I was wondering if it was at all possible to modify things so that the electric engines could be used when surfaced, and to alter the crash dive sequence so that it ramps up to flank speed with the diesels, then starts to submerge while simultaneously switching from diesel to electric, so that the u boat doesn't just hover their with its butt exposed until the electrics kick in. |

Can't answer about the hardcoding but on the subject of crash diving, don't know if you've seen this, but it gives weight to what you say: (scroll to page 33)
http://www.uboatarchive.net/Diving/D...egulations.htm Providing dive times remained accurate, I'd welcome such a patch if someone could figure it out, anything in the interests of greater authenticity and realism. |
