Hi there.
I recently updated to NYGM 2017 mod. Problem is that when the war ends the game crashes to windows. Also it is possible to run silent when not engaging convoys, but impossible to do so when in a convoy attack. Escape from destroyers , especially with a Type IIA or IID model is impossible. Max depth is around 100m or so, and with silent running engaged the boat drops to that level in minutes. I eventually just leave the game due to frustration. Tried all ways ....no luck! Any help out there??? |

I think it's impossible escape anyways at 1942. I was 240m (!) depth at 0.5 knots, and they still was able to ping & sonar me. At that speed I coudlnt even move (and gaining depth). I tried everything, like always being at such speed, or going to full speed just when I listener he about me releasing depth charges, changing my orientation a bit (not too much is possible at that speed).
The only solution I found so far was, torpedoing (salvos) from high distance - like 4000m - and as soon as I fire them, run as much as possible, on the surface or underwater, or a combination of both, depending conditions, hour, visibility, radar suspect... etc. |

If they are pinging you, staying at half knot is useless. They do not hear you... they see you. Get your engines up to speed and be ready to evade.
Juan said it right... launch your torps and immediately leave the area. Check out my video...
