So there i was dealing with the usual swirling melee of 15 (at least thats where i stopped counting) torpedoes, doing my best do dive, dodge, dip, duck and dive when a near depth charge explosion reduced propulsion to ten knots.
there was no hope of defeating the torpedo swarm limited to ten knots now, so knowing i was about to become fish food, i fired a MK48 at the escort (i had previously sunk the tender, the other escort, and an enemy submarine) he was the last enemy on the map i continued my best efforts to defeat the onslaught of torpedoes until mine found its mark. the escort was struck, and sank quickly with a fantastic explosion... but seconds later i took a Russian torpedo right up the tail, the GUI vanished... a steady stream of bubbles reached for the surface as my sub headed toward the briny deep... the USS Memphis was lost with all hands. but, whats this? im taken back to the map screen! i navigate my way back toward Holyloch, interrupted by two victor class subs which i quickly dispatched. Upon spawning on the mission map i checked damage control. My sub was heavily scarred. towed array out, propulsion, rudder and planes would require repair in port. hull integrety was negative 113%!!! ![]() i returned to base in my death sub. every time i would click to repair a system, it would repair and charge me the hours in port, i would click the next system to repair and i would get a mission failed screen, back to a new briefing, click rearm and repair... hull integrity was now 100% but the previously repaired systems were back to being damaged ![]() after 4 additional failed missions i determined that i had to click through the repairs as fast as i could and they would stay repaired. i spent nearly 500 hours in port and pushed back out to sea with the boat in new condition odd bug

I had a Similar kind of glitch happen to me in the Single Mission The Duel. Dodging about 4 Torpedoes, Above Crush Depth, no Damage, and 100% in Control. Suddenly my UI Completely vanishes like a death screen. I wasn't dead though. I lost complete control of the Submarine and it kept turning until eventually the torpedoes hit, Actually killing me.
The only thing of Note is that I was 100 Feet above the Bottom, however, I was on an Incline to a deeper bottom.where the Incline began was slightly above the Center line of my Submarine. It was at about that point I lost Control. I'm wondering perhaps if there's a sea floor Collision Detection Bug, because I had easily at minimum 50 feet of water between me and any solid surface. |

It's a bug in 1.08, I 'm fair and go to the menu immediately when the GUI goes away (workaround).
Happy to hear it has been fixed. |
