I've played RFB+RSRD+ISP combination for a long while, really love it
Except one problem...... The ships always sink in a way of steady and horizontal position, which obviously unrealistic when you can find tons of old photos showing damaged warships tilted to one side, eventually capsized and sunk. But it never happened in RFB...... I knew it deep-modified the damage mechanics for all the merchants and escorts, leaving other warships same with stock, so I want to modify the left warships parts. I searched in forum and found the mod Longer Sinking Time for TMO, which is quite interesting because it only modified torpedo's zon file and zones.cfg. I tried this mod install on stock game and it works perfectly. In the torpedo attack training mission I fired 4 bow tube, all hit, 3 exploded, and the cruiser began to tilt, after about 10 minutes it eventually capsized and sunk. I'm not planning to modify the torpedo.zon because I'm afraid that it will effect the sinking mechanics of modified ships. I decided to focus on zones.cfg. But I'm really confusing about what those 'zones' actually mean. For instance, what the hell is 'KeelB’ and 'KeelBB' in the zone list? They're both in the 'Battleships' section, but I just don't know which part, or 'zone' they are referring to. It's obvious that if I can't figure out what's the meaning of all these names of zones, it's impossible to approach what I expect. ![]() |
