Im not exactly sure what Im seeing. How are you breaking avoiding torps?

@stratege1401
Torpedoes are expensive, you know... Thanks ! @cj95 Depth evasion by ballast. You can watch the 3D MAP version to give you another perspective. |

I have these observations on the technique demonstrated in 1st vid.
Steer direct at nearest firing sub. As torps near, make ballast only constant depth changes changing speed accordingly. If deep, go shallow, if shallow, go deep. The ballast depth change rate seems like the magic number to stay out of the torpedoe's fired depth vertical scan yet not lose control of the depth change rate. I'm not seeing any obsessive attempt to always avoid cavitation, preferring vertical maneuvering and closing speed over stealth. Closing tight with the enemy subs as fast as possible so they are forced to be at risk from circle runs. -Pv- |

I racked two whiskeys the other day and didn't fire one torp,skipjacks are fast subs went full speed in a crash dive and their torpedos came along for the ride then back up after passing the offending ship and buh-bye.
