I know in SH3 you can find a battleship on the second Patrol and another in Scotland on third or fourth etc...
Where and when do Battleships appear in American campaign? Especially looking for Yamato or Musashi. Or are the encounters completely randomized? |

In the Stock game, they are "randomized", though at a very high rate. It is possible to sink the Yamato, and then encounter another in the next task force. RSRDC has "scheduled" ship appearances, based upon "historical" information, but I've never looked for the Yamato or Musashi, though they can probably be found anchored at Truk for a good portion of the middle of the war... The Fuso and Ise are a dime a dozen in the stock game... Just be on the look-out and keep your eyes and ears peeled...

Depends on mods, and where you go and when. Northwest of Luzon at the beginning of the Asiatic career there are several invasion task forces, some of them have battleships. Any career you can sneak into Osaka bay and go to Kobe at the north end, there are usually carriers and battleships at anchor there.
This mod; http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4358 Was designed specifically for that, large numbers of warships to sink. You really want to get into it I would suggest going into the main folder of SH4, start the Sh4MissionEditor.exe, and just poke around in the \Data\Campaigns\Campaign folder to look at the various career missions. |
