Default Request SH3 Fuel Gauge Mod

I am requesting a SH3 Fuel Gauge Mod that indicates how much fuel is available to use that one can read in percentages.

Or maybe there is one already in service that can be downloaded?
If yes, where is the download?

Hi CTU
I am not aware of anything available.
Why that abortion was ever conceived I do not know.

There must have been one way back in time because I got this image from a old timer here, but he no longer can find the configurations data. (mod install)

I think 3 and 4 are from a collection of Tga's.
Maybe sublynx.

Default Yes...but...

Whether or not you have something installed, that provides numbers associated with the scribe-marks on the scale next to the fuel level "sight glass", it still won't provide you with accurate readings.

The problem is in the reference point of the indicator itself. In stock and GWX (IIRC) the indicator is the little "cork" that floats on top of the fuel level in the gage glass. The correct reading is taken from about the top of the "cork", until it gets close to 0%, when the correct reading seems to be taken from the bottom of the "cork".

In LSH3, the red line you see is actually the very bottom of that same old "cork", the rest of it seems to have been removed or hidden. That means the correct reading is taken some distance above the red line indicator. I've observed that the actual fuel level is nearly 15% higher than what the red line indicates.

You can check that yourself when you start a new patrol (or a single mission/Naval Academy mission). At the start, you have 100% (or at least 99%) fuel onboard, but you'll see that the red line is at the 85% reading on the scale. Then, when you get a report from the LI of 50% fuel onboard, you'll see that the indicator reads between 35% and 40% on the scale.

BTW...the gage with markings shown in your 5 Jan. 1:11 post would work; the best by far, since the percentage markings are adjusted for the correct indication point on the little "cork". It's a shame that MOD seems to be lost, although I would personally not care for the coloring. Just give me the level markings on the scale, in plain old black and white (or black on "silver").

For now, I made myself a little overlay that I lay over my in-game gauge as shown on my monitor. It works pretty good as long as my resolutions do not change. guess you could say, I am "using my paper cork"

Hopefully someone can come up with a stand alone mod for this request.

Wasn't Makman94 contemplating modding an accurate gauge a while back?
