Update=frustate

Howdy y'all,

I'm having a very big problem updating from 1.0.5 (amazon version)to 1.2.

I've tried using the build in update silenthunter5/support/gameupdater/gu.exe, and it doesn't work. I get an error saying it couldn't read/write a file in users/x/appdata/local/temp/ubi----(4 letters or numbers). I tried downloading the patch manually and I get the "can't install on this version of the game" type error. I even tried using the updater hidden in silenthunter5/data/UL/gameupdater.exe, and that updated my copy of silent hunter 4 for some reason.

My Rig:
3.6 GHZ Haswell Quad core
16GB RAM
Nvidia 760gt or something (the 3gb version)
windows 10

I haven't been able to find anything that helps on the internet and would appreciate any help with this.

I just wanted to play with mods, man...

Edit: clearer wording. Also turns out that I had to keep running autoupdater repeatedly until I got lucky. It's working now for whatever reason.

Updating the installation from v1.05 to v1.2 is always done through
Silent Hunter 5/support/GameUpdater/gu.exe as you point out.
I have never come across this update not working.
The problem possibly might be the Ubisoft Game Launcher which can be problematic after installing as the update to v1.2 also patches the Game Launcher.
Run your applications as administrator's.
