SH5 - Mods installation?

Hello, im an fellow subsimmer! I am terrible sorry if this already have been taken up before or whrong place to put this, so please correct me then.

Anyways i have SH5 and i did want to install mods long ago, but i couldent i had The Genereric Mod loader, and i tested some mods, non worked, so i putted the buissnes down.
Now i am back and i do want to install mods again, even that i couldent get it to work, i have latest SH5 patch and latest Mod loader, but it still wount work, I have tryed 2-5 mods new as old but none of them have any effect on the game, i noticed that something did so 30M on the deep scale would be 100M almost, but not more than that, I have an clean install, some savegames but i dont think they will affect the game-mods. I have figured on this before, watched videos read forums etc. etc. But none will show any sign on my problem.

So basicly i have
Latest SH5
Latest Generic Mod Loader
Mods of latest version and maybe below.

My system is fine so it can't be that.

The reason i want mods is because:

Unrealistic Gameplay like: Deepthcharges dont affect U-Boot and fixes for bugs like ships suddently goes up in smoke in the middle of nowhere.
And the worst of all, you cant dive too 100 or hull breaches.

I don't care if there are any bugs that are affecting eviroment or such but effects on ships on actions or anything that can affect you playstyle or feel are real bad, really.

Sorry for the long thread but i really wanna have mods.

(Sorry for any misspellings in my threads)

Good Hunting
Alexander22

follow the instructions in the following link to ensure that JSGME is installed correctly: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=180046

Ensure that your game is patched to version 1.2 (to be seen in the top right hand corner of your screen when in the main menu of the game)

I did exactly as they explained but it was exact like my setup, besides mine dident be an Setup.exe.

I run SH5 via U-Play, maybe this effects it?
Do i need to restart the campain or restart from port for em to work?
I have heard this can be required.
I do notice small changes with one mod but it aint seeming to work fully.
And I have watched 2-4 movies and 2 threads about this installations too

*I install JSGME exactly as they explain
*I recheck so its right
*I put my mods in and run JSGME from desktop(Mods folder ofcourse)
*When my desired mods are checked, I run SH5
*U-Play starts I do ''Play''
*When in-game menu i press ''Load Game'' (Currently on ''Black May'' campain)
*And select the most used save game.
*When in-game i am testing stuff if they do work, nothin' seems changed.

I have been figuring about doing an clean reinstall of SH5, but im a bit lazy too, but seems as last option.

I have English text and German voice. (In game)

Check the mod files that you put into the MODS folder.
They must have a subfolder called "data" - this folder MUST be one level down.

Mods to chech are:-
Enviro mod
any mod by TDW

I have tryed much that have been wroten on forums, nothing works.

I have evrything but a modded SH5

P.S Shall i have the mod loader up or closed when playing?
Its like im missing something.

I could need like an mod tester or an TuT all the way from beggining of SH5 installation 2 the end of mods.

alexander22,

please be more specific and describe the exact problem...why do you think your mods are not working??

In which directory is your sh5. exe located?
In which directory is your jsgme.exe located?

In the main directory of Silent Hunter 5, do you have a folder called "MODS"?

Have you activated your mods within JSGME by moving them from the left window to the right window?

Are you using a saved game based on other mods which have been removed in the meantime?

I've did install some UI mod by some guy, TheDarthWhrait. I think that changes the deep some way because after activating that i would normaly dive 30-40 M at Sonar avoidans, but with that on i dive to 130M, i cant seem to get any other things to work since it dosent show the ui, nor i dont know if its actually working. I read changes in Readme text, but none seems changed or added.
So this NewUIs_TDC_7_1_0_ByTheDarkWraith i've downloaded for 1.2 and its not working, no new ui no changes, beside deep.

My SH5 is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5, and my JSGME in pretty much same folder as SH5 (NOT SAVE FOLDER, MAIN SH5 FOLDER)

I have a ''MODS'' folder, it basicly generates auto or it come with when i copy the JSGME over.

And yes, i activate my mods, not by draging, but marking, and pressing -> (>) so it appears activated far down to the left.

The saves i dont know anything since the mods never worked, i only have my own vanilla game save, i did remove em after trying to reinstall game that i did yestoday, it did not work.

I pretty much have no idea, i just download JSGME and put the required things in SH5 and ''MODS'' folder, and then download desired mods and put em in ''MODS'' then activating em, then i start SH5 - U-Play - Play.

This is an log from the downloaded folder of JSGME (If too any help)
JSGME (.ini)

[MODS FOLDER]
Name=MODS
[JSGME DETAILS]
FullPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\JSGME.exe
[FORM SIZE]
Main Height=529
Main Left=648
Main Top=185
Main Width=676
Main WindowState=0

When i unistalled the game, i forgot to remover the leftover things and files, removing clean scan etc, so i may reinstall it again (This may affect it)

Im using WIN8-Pro (I had 7 but same problem) and when the first run SH5 i got error on my Graphics Card, its fine, evrything work excelent! I have evry setting on MAX! + DirectX 11.0

My graphic card/driver is Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 (x2)

And last, an big information log about my specs (I translated it from Swe to Eng so sorry if anything is whrong spelled)

could you maybe post a screenshot of JSGME after you have activated your mods and could you also post where exactly you installed JSGME?

Have a nice day!

Hi alexander22.

Don't install the game to Program files or Program files (x86), because it' special protected by the OS. Install to C:/Ubisoft or D:/Games or somewhere else. You could try to run JSGME as Administrator, but reinstalling to a different path should be the trick.

Regards.

this was only true for vista users and microsoft learned their lesson and fixed that so unless you still have vista OS you let the game install normally and you do NOT need to do anything special or create folders for your games.

Default Mod Activation Problem

Hello. I have watched about 12 youtube video's, read alot of threads and spent all Sunday trying to get the Mods to work for SH5. Apparently you have to activate it (turn it on) within the sub base. But nothing on how to do this. I downloaded + installed darkwraiths newest mod (that make the script work - v7 point something), as well as Trevally script mod as I wanted the maps and gauges as well as the search scripts. No additional icons are showing up in game. So how to turn it on?

(Too bad there isn't a simply "click/install correctly" package where it does it all for you.
