Default Wow! Sending flowers ain't cheap

It's been a while since I sent someone flowers, and I learned today it is about $60 for a small bouquet. Wow, a little stunned here. Next time I think I'll handpick some and deliver them myself. Probably get some extra credit for that anyway.

Home Depot has cut flowers ready to go. Roses and wildflowers. Your choice. Get some tools and a bouquet. Win win brother.

If you're buying flowers, buy alstroemeria... you get loads for your money, they come in many really nice colours and they last for AGES.

If you're ever undecided, my favorites are Tiger Lillies

There are two local go to sources for flowers that i prefer to use here where live.

when i am in town a nice bouquet of roses or mixed flowers can be picked up at the local grocery store for about $20, basic arrangement in a vase, i'll deliver them myself or have them waiting on the table when the wife gets home.

when i am out of town, i usually call a local mom and pop florist down the road, average cost for delivery is $50-60 - seems to be the average everywhere

One of the many reasons I prefer to give live plants.

I never understood the attraction of cut flowers.

I stopped sending flowers a long time ago because like ya said its expensive and cut flowers never last long anyways. However I have a favorite when find them I'll personally deliver and thats the low maintenance potted moth orchid. They're indoor plants and when taken care of those things last a long time making it well worth the money.

If I have to mail a gift now in lieu of flowers or just to mix things up I pick from Harry and David online the pears are awesome. They're expensive too but I've gotten better responses from the recipients.

You try the alstroemeria... they will go for up to three weeks in a vase of water, honest. Like I said, there are many different colours and they look amazingly expensive although always very inexpensive.

Most supermarkets, at least around here, have flowers. I can get a dozen good looking roses for about $15-20.

Basil makes a kewl gift. Its another low maintenance plant, fragrant, natural mosquito repellant and with some pine nuts, parmesan cheese and olive oil you can use it make your own pesto all summer long.

No, it's to say thanks to a lady in HR of the former company where I worked. I called and asked her to dig up some records for me, and she did. Very nice of her to take the time to assist someone who no longer works at the company.

Yep. I always go for the live orchids. $16.00 gets a very nice display that will last weeks.

Wait? Someone in HR was helpful?

Remember you can't spell "Who Cares" without HR.
