Well I use the free edition and this is not nice.

Wow, until this Avast WAS my back of the mind emergency go to choice... I use Office 2003 too and use an online 'Whitelist' so I never get email spam, or viruses.

I wonder how Avira works as an AV these days? Maybe they're next.

Bleepingcomputer.com is your fix. They continuously monitor anti-virus solutions and have a couple of great free alternatives.
