Can someone please explain how the wooden stopwatch works in GWX 3.0. I can't get it working at all and have no way to time a ships speed otherwise.
thank you! |

hi, you have to start the stop watch in your periscope view screen, top right .. then you can drag down and watch the wooden one.

That bug was one I always wished they fixed. It is annoying to be at the UZO, get my range, start the clock, and get back to the map to take my plots. It would be easier to use the watch offIcer to give me my range and start the clock myself!
Believe it or not I use to use a real stopwatch to alleviate the problem!

You can start the watch yourself, but as stated only from the periscope view. This is not a bug. There is no stopwatch in the other views. The GWX team managed to add a repeater in other screens, but thus far there has been no way to separate it from the only "real" stopwatch.

The "missing" stopwatch has always been a bit of a PITA but there are some workarounds.
What I did was add a draggable watch with a seconds hand to the main GUI. It doesn't have a start/stop function but at least I can plot pretty accurately on the navmap now. The draggable watch is available through other mods but you can add that one particular piece by doing some manual editing and adding the necessary files. |
