Default Law enforcement becomes in effect a taxpayer-paid private security source for Walmart

Nice summation of this article:

http://www.tampabay.com/projects/201...almart-police/

Nice to know police are there to protect Wal Mart's profitability rather than the safety of the general public!!

Sheesh. Much ado about a simply solvable situation. You know, home and business security alarms used to be a similar problem. How was that solved? Poof! What problem?

Imagine, a store calling the police when crimes and public disturbances are occurring on their property. What's up with that?

A person should be able to commit a crime or violate a town/county/state ordinance without the interference of the police!!!

This just the tip of the iceberg. I bet what comes next is that some "judge" in some "court" will be putting people in jail for stealing.

Good God! You paint a fearful picture! I don't know if I could live in such a lawful futuristic society...

1. Look at the caliber of people that walmart attracts. 2. Why spend profits on a private security detail when you're already spending tax money on a professional police force?

As always, I had more fun reading the posts there than the article itself. Hard-core Left calling hard-core right "biased" and vice-versa. Hiring a few more security guards might help, especially with chasing away loiterers and panhandlers, but with even minor crimes ultimately even private security has to either let the perps go or call the police.

I'm curious to see if the OP has anything more to say on the subject or if this is just another drive-by.
