Is there any way to identify merchant ships for entering the information into the stadimeter? The ship ID that my games has (V. 1.3, I think), only has warships. I need a way to at least estimate range for the TDC. Or do many of you not use the TDC?

Good day...you will notice when the Ship ID book is closed that there is a Flag on the front and see two set of arrows that allows you to scroll between Japan, Merchant and other nations ships. Make sure you have the Merchants selected and you should be good to go.
This is all done on the front cover of the book. You can access it by clicking the square X box in the top righthand corner of the ship id book |
