Game Play Settings Changed

Ok, I had a unusual thing happen with my game during career mode.

I normally play on 100% realism. However, the other day I had to recover my PC due to a none SH4 related problem. So I had Windows restore to a point a few days prior.

Anyways when I loaded my saved game file and went back into career mode. Everything was set back to default with auto targeting etc.... Where is the settings saved and why did the save game realism settings get changed? The only time I know you can change those in career mode is between patrols. Is there a way to restore my game settings mid patrol?

On my Win7 system:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\SH4\data\cfg\Gamepla ySettings.cfg

I believe that should work. Standard disclaimers apply, make backups, make sure you've got the right file, standard text and data rates may apply, see a doctor if the condition does not improve or worsens. Valid only at participating locations, some swelling may occur. One coupon per customer per visit.
Offer void where prohibited by law.
