He had a fantastic, soulful voice. It's sad that unlike today's artists, he didn't have anyone writing songs for him.

Not really. The number is certainly high, especially with the year only one-third over, and may set a record, but a look at this list should point out the huge number of famous musicians who died in other years.

It's staggering, but it's also common.

The number is high but I'm not sure if people are referring as much to the number as the sheer loss of talent. In short, you can lose people which is always tragic but the sudden loss of that talent which was irreplaceable is what I think is hitting people.

That list is not complete, I notice it doesn't have one of my favorite singers listed: Andy Williams.

Either a hip-op or When they decide to get out of doing rap or become too old to rap, They usually go to the hip hop anonymous clinic.
