Argentina has sunk a fishing vessel of Chinese registry after it was found to be illegally fishing in it's waters and then trying to ram an Argentinian Coast Guard vessel.
Quote: The navy statement said the boat was intercepted on Monday off the coast of Puerto Madryn, about 907 miles (1,460 kilometers) south of Buenos Aires. The navy said it had been 15 years since one of its vessels last sank a foreign vessel fishing illegally in Argentina's waters. In Beijing, Lu Kang, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, posted a statement on the ministry's website saying the boat had been fishing in Argentine waters and was chased for several hours before Argentine naval fire holed the vessel. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...-a6933751.html Argentina has reported the Fishing vessel deliberately tried to ram Argentinian navy vessels after they tried to stop and detain the fishing vessel and said the vessel was sunk only after it posed a danger to those navy units. It appears China is acknowledging that it's vessel was operating Illegally as Argentina has said. Last edited by Commander Wallace; 03-17-16 at 07:45 AM. |

If the article is true factually I'd say good for the Argentines and lucky for them the Chinese aren't taking a different stance.
Possibly too close to the US and busy taking over the Spratly Islands? |

SO much 'innocent passage' Perhaps they were fishing 'in honor of their ancestors'!
