Default How they made 2001

I'm a pretty big sci-fi fan but must admit 2001 is not my favorite nor in the top 10. Still a pretty fascinating series that shows what went into it:

That was interesting. I'm not a big fan of the movie either but was always fascinated by the 'Dawn of Man' scene. Cool to see how they filmed it. Thanks for posting.

It remains my favorite Sci-fi movie and likely will forever. Really the only one that got the science right instead of compromising to the general audience's sensibilities.

SUPERB! Having worked on productions where weeks are spent in set prep; its always fun to see how they concoct the scenes and then see what comes out of it all on the big screen. So now, When I watch something cinematic, I tend to think of the mess going on all around what is the finished very limited shot telling me the story. Those exquisite ape suits and that hot lighting made it a tough gig for the very good ape actors... And now we know how it can be well faked.. DAMNi was hoping 'Squatches are 'reel'
