Newbie here, looking for some guidance :)

Hi all,

I'm new to SH4. Been playing for a few weeks now, and although I think I'm getting the hang of it, I still have a few questions I was hoping to find help with....

1) Is there some sort of guide out there that explains the crew management screen? I've toyed around with it but could really use some pointers. I also don't fully understand naval rankings (what is a "petty officer?" )

2) How exactly does the damage crew work? I've dragged a few guys into those slots, and sometimes when I take damage it gets fixed quickly. But other times I can't tell if they're even doing anything. Does the damage crew sleep at certain times?

3) When trying to finish off a crippled ship with the deck gun, is there an ideal place to target?
