Clash of Clans Strategies

Welcome! In this Thread, I will be reviewing the different army compositions and attacking tactics for different strategies in the game Clash of Clans.
Feel free to comment feedback, but leave the strategies up to me, any posts made by others will be deleted. If you would like your strategy to be featured, PM me.

Strategy 1: GoWiPe
This army composition is used extremely often by high-level players to gain trophies fast. It is not recommended for resource farming, as the costs of these troops are extremely expensive.
Troops:
- 4 Golems (level 3+)
- 2-3 PEKKAs (any level)
- 14 Wizards (lvl 4+)
- 5-10 Wallbreakers
- Barbarians and Archers sprinkled around for luring purposes*

Spells:
- 2 Rage spells
- 1 Lightning spell (lvl 3+)
- 1 Freeze spell**

Tactic: To start off, place a few barbarians or archers around the base to lure any Clan Castle troops, and dispose of them with a lightning spell. Then, drop the Golems, preferably with a medium-large distance between them to absorb fire, and after the first mortar shots are down, drop the Wallbreakers to open a path to the first compartment. Deploy the Wizards then by sprinkling them along the side of the base. They will take care of the "trash" buildings and clear the way for the PEKKAs to penetrate deep into the core of base, and not become distracted by other buildings. Drop a rage spell on the Golems once they enter the compartment. When the "trash" buildings are disposed of along the side of the base, drop the PEKKAs together and drop another rage spell. If you have any heroes available, drop them now.***
The Golems you dropped earlier should have died by now, and the fire should be shifting to the Wizards/PEKKAs, but most of the defenses should have been destroyed by now, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. The remaining troops will go on and take out the rest of the base.

*You can use any amount of troops you want, but these are recommended.
**You may use any spells you would like, specifically replacing one of the rage spells with a healing spell, but this is my preferred spell
***You should activate the Barbarian King's Iron Fist and the Archer Queen's Royal Cloak, respectively, once they enter the compartment containing either:
-Most of the defenses
- The Town Hall

Strategy 2: GoHo
This is an excellent strategy to use in gaining trophies quickly; it doesn't use any elixir for troops other then the luring archers, and it is flexible; you can change the number of troops for any purpose.
Troops:
- 4 Golems
- 16 Hog Riders
- 4 Wizards
- 2 Witches
- 6-8 Wallbreakers
- The rest of the camp full of archers

Spells:
- 2 Rage spells
- 1 Lightning spell
- 1 Freeze spell

Tactic: The best base for the GoHo strategy is a base without any gaps between buildings; Giant Bombs could be placed there and because they deal 2x damage to Hog Riders, ruin your attack. To start off, you want to lure any heroes or clan castle troops they have into a group, and then lightning spell them. That should take care of the CC troops, but the hero is still there. Send in your wizards, and they should take him/her out. Now you can proceed. Drop down your Golems, preferable with a large distance between them so they can soak up damage, and once the first mortar shell lands, drop your Wallbreakers. They should destroy the walls leading to the first compartment. At that moment, you rage up your Golems and drop your Hog Riders down. They should penetrate deep into the base and destroy any defenses. Then, drop your Witches down and rage them up too. If you need to, drop a Freeze Spell on any remaining defenses, and then drop the rest of your Wallbreakers. They should clear a way directly into the compartment containing the Town Hall, and the, victory is yours.

I think I'll fire up the ol' app today now that there seems to be a forum member serious about it. Could be worth it if we get enough guys together.

Yeah, I was previously up for it but we need 8 more guys to be able to do anything with our clan.

Well, we could at least talk on it

If we do get 8 more members, we could go to war against those silly surface ship groups

After seeing the mount of money coworkers have wasted on that game, I'm pretty sure the best strategy is to not play at all.

....or just don't waste money on it. It takes longer to get further just like in any F2P game but I don't know too many people who buy gems.

Like you say.....waste of money.

I hate to reply, but I'm a victim of that. I'll chat in the clan, don't feel like it on the forums

'course, you could always use FreeMyApps or AppBounty to get free iTunes cards, but that's never worked for me

I'm terribly sorry but my phone has been acting up here lately. It's an old model and i've been having trouble keeping it charged, sending messages, etc.

Seems 1GB of space "is not sufficient" to download the update for the app. I'll have to figure something out but I will not be in the Clan by tomorrow.

Ok, like I said in my PM, uninstalling the app WITHOUT UPDATING IT and then reinstalling it, should download the game, with the update included. That SHOULD fix it, though I'm not certain.
If it helps, I also play Boom Beach, although it requires iOS 7.0. If your phone can run it, that might be a better choice.
