Hi drronnie

The short cut key is "C"
Clicking on the compass bar will open the round compass.
Pressing the grey plate below the compass will switch between compass and rudder.

The compass can be dragged to a more suitable position if required.
It will stay in the moved position when you press the "C" key when the game loads.
Picture shows the rudder.

Picture shows the compass.
Pressing x 5 will change the depth gauge.

The picture shows the alternative speed graphic mod that comes with TDW's NewUI.

If its these round ones, then you need to go into
...Silent Hunter 5\MODS\NewUIs_TDC_7_4_2_ByTheDarkWraith\data\Scrip ts\Menu\TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py
and change UIStyle=SH5Enhanced to UIStyle=SH3Style (line 90)
(ps. the mod shouldnt be activated when you do)

pps. sorry for big image. tried to rescale, but it keeps coming back as big

Hi drronnie
Vincentz is right, this is what you need.

Apologies, I think I had what is known as a senior moment.
