"The Finest Hours"
Not really a submarine movie, but I thought this looked good...a film commemorating the response to the "Fort Mercer" and "Pendleton" breakup in 1952...particularly, the legendary small boat rescue that saved the men on the stern of the "Pendleton". Was pleasantly surprised to see that the boats/ships look historically correct - I can't stand it when Hollywood uses vessels from the wrong era, or that look like toy boats! From what I saw in the trailer, "Pendleton" really looks like "Pendleton". |

Got me excited. It might actually get me into a theater again.
Oh. And some of the comments accompanying the trailer are worth reading, too.

Trailer looks great but I sense a small dose of the Pearl Harbour women and man relationship. If not overdone, should well be worth a viewing.

Just noticed that their "Pendleton" has some streamlining to the stern that the real tanker didn't have, but overall I'm still very impressed with how the CG render (I assume?) looks... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
