Condolences to the families and friends and colleagues of the victims What struck me as especially senseless was that according to the station's manager, the people he killed were never his colleagues and were hired long after he was dismissed. So it can't even be said to be a revenge killing, just a spiteful terror attack (in the literal sense of the word).

Also on that, it sounds like the shooter is still alive (if just barely).

It's coming out that the killer has a long history of anger management problems and that he would often claim discrimination when he'd get disciplined or fired for it.

I'm probably going to get flamed for it but I think this is the natural result of all the race baiting and rabble rousing that's been going on lately.

I actually have to agree with you to a point - at the very least, there is a definite problem on one side of the political spectrum that's not unlike the problem on the other: people constantly being told that they're victims of systemic persecution, and that they and everybody else have to be angr about it. I don't even have the issue with the systemic part, but the problem is that yes, I think it's important to acknowledge that some sections of social liberals have successfully convinced themselves that anger and outrage is productive, and have encouraged this anger. The problem is that anger is not productive, and worse, there is always that 0.000001% of people who are unable to control it to this extent. If you keep telling them that yes, they should be angry at the group that's responsible for their persecution.

So in that sense, I actually do partly agree. I think this seems to be very closely similar to the Charleston shooting this year, in the sense that the shooter seems to have picked up some of his cues from partisan media discourse and targeted a group of people he didn't know personally but believed to be behind his persecution, just from the opposite side of the spectrum. But I think both extremes are equally bad.

He had worked with both victims they where not random targets. Seems he had worked as a reporter at the station and been fired. He said that the woman had called racial slurs and the man had reported him to HR after one day working with him.

Of course I doubt those things occurred but seems that he blamed his being fired on them.

This is a complete surprise to me, a friend who posted the original video on FB, with half a dozen or so shots fired followed by confusion in the studio. Not for one minute did I think the couple onscreen were the intended victims, just innocent bystanders.
