Default Not getting credit for sunk ship-maybe saves corrupted

Running TMO/OTC/RSRD I keep having a problem where I am not getting credit for ships sunk.

I've tried multiple careers and the same thing, I'll sink say ten, I can see it in my log, but when I got back to port, it will just say 4 or some number.

During patrol, I save every once in a while, so I deleted every save but the current one, the most recent one.

My log shows 10 ships sunk, in port it says 1! It only remembered the ships from the most recent save!

Weirder still, my first patrol was no problem, so I thought the bug went away, the second patrol the bug came back!

Any ideas? I'm so angry because I wiped out the convoy going to invade Wake Island. My first big accomplishment!

There's probably no correlation, but did Wake Island convert to Japanese control anyway?

You're not overwriting saves, are you?

When you are asking a question of this nature, you should start off by listing the EXACT mod loadout you are using. Just saying you are using TMO, OTC, and RSRD isn't sufficient because there are multiple versions of each, and there are many combinations possible. JSGME has a function which makes exporting/copying the mod list very easy.

Without this info, people can only make a wild guess as to what's wrong.

I have never used Steam, so maybe someone who does can advise you, but it is usually not a good idea to install the game in the 'Program Files (x86)' folder.

Yes, and I felt really bad about it. 4,000 US POWs! Well, I took out two aircraft carriers and two cruisers, so maybe that bought some time for some of our boys to get out safely.

Default Lost Tonnage

My setup is not Steam, is not installed in the default folder, and has been stable for quite some time now. I find the same problem with saved games. If I have racked up significant tonnage and have to leave for say, domestic-related reasons dictated by the household Admiral, I find that saving the game (not as an overlay of a previous save) will usually cost me all that tonnage. I only get credit for tonnage sunk after the saved game is reloaded. I don't think the problem is related to the hardware or source of software. It may be a TMO or RSRD issue, but I have not done any research. I have learned to NOT save when I have a significant kill. Instead I will hit ESC and then ALT/TAB out if I am ordered to leave. When I go back it does not seem to have any adverse effect, including the runaway CO2 issue encountered when using ALT/TAB straight from a running game. Perhaps this added info will help someone more knowledgeable than I to propose a solution other than my work-around.

The problem of not getting credit for sinkings sounds like it is either related to Steam, or to the Windows OS blocking info that is in the save. I'm talking about the UAC and folder permissions stuff.

It is unlikely that it is a TMO or RSRDC issue, since these mods are very popular and have been around a long time.

Having committed the Trifecta of Sin by using Steam, using the Programs folder, and over-writing old saves, I have never had this particular problem.

Actually, that was my plan b, to just esc and alt-tab and leave the game running in the background forever.

I'm going to try the Guerrilla Submarines Spyron Mod instead of RSRD and see if that does anything.

Just an update, using Guerrilla Submarines Spyron Mod instead of RSRD it seems that problem has gone away, so it looks like RSRD was the culprit.

Now, how to fix it?

I like the Guerrilla Submarines Spyron Mod a lot. All of the Special Missions were built to model the actual missions that were conducted in WW II.... no more trips to Hiroshima etc.

RSRD does not work because both campaigns use some of the same files, especially the Flotillas & Career Start upc files. Think of them as two different campaigns.

The Guerrilla Submarines Spyron Mod adds some traffic, changes all of the Objectives from Stock, plus every patrol is selected using Kim's TBox.

Happy Hunting!

Where would one find this mod? I searched the Subsim downloads, including the Legacy files, and did not find it. Thanks.
