hey guys, I want to activate the USAM GWX camopaign mod, but it has some overwrites with the Bases 5.2 mod.
overwrites: "Campaign_LND.mis" has already been altered by the "Bases" mod. "Campaign_RND.mis" has already been altered by the "Bases" mod. "Campaign_SCR.mis" has already been altered by the "Bases" mod. Is it safe for me to activate this mod? |

In my opinion, sometimes you can activate a mod when it gives a warning like that, and it still works. You have to experiment. But I'm sure if you wait, a lot of these guys will be able to tell you straight up!

One will overwrite the other but, you can merge them using the SH3Mission Editor. The instructions for how to do this can be found in the USAM readme.

I recommend using method 2 from the readme as you have a custom campaign file:
2. IF YOU ARE NOT A GWX USER or already have a custom campaign file then you'll need to add the .mis files to your scripted campaign manually: a. Activate USAM through JSGME. b. Copy the 'WB's USAM_LND' campaign file to your desktop c. Copy the 'WB's USAM_RND' campaign file to your desktop d. Copy the 'WB's USAM_SCR' campaign file to your desktop e. Find your campaign files (default location is 'C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Campaigns\Campa ign') and copy all three to your desktop. These will act as a backup in case anything goes wrong. 3. Copy the USAM campaign files into your existing campaign: a. Open SH3 Mission Editor at 'C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\Sh3MissionEditor' b. Select 'Open (Normal Mission)' or use shortcut [Ctrl-O] c. Open: 'C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Campaigns\Campa ign\Campaign_SCR' d. Select 'File' e. Select 'Merge' f. Check the 'Mark merged data as saveable' box g. Select 'OK' h. Open the campaign file on your desktop i. Select 'File' j. Select 'Save Scripted Layer As...' k. Save in: 'C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Campaigns\Campa ign' l. File name 'Campaign_SCR' 4. Repeat 3a to l above, but using the _RND file. 5. Repeat 3a to l above, but using the _LND file. Good hunting ![]()
