It’s a sad indictment of today’s world that most of us are reduced to a state of frenzied isolation when our mobile phones run out of charge.

But that could soon be a thing of the past, as scientists reckon that they have created a new battery capable of fully charging in just ONE MINUTE.

The new aluminium battery, which was created by scientists at Stanford University, is cheaper to produce than the lithium batteries currently found in mobile phones and laptops, and offers ‘unprecedented charging times’.
