Does anyone know how to adjust the F3 Observation Deck and F8 Gun Director viewpoint locations? Many of the stock units have flawed viewpoints which make manning these units difficult. On many of these units if the viewpoint could be raised a meter or so it would greatly improve the view!
Thanks in advance, Don Simon Troy, VA

Well, after two weeks and 122 views with no replies I shall have to assume the answer is NO, there is no way to easily change the F3 and F8 viewpoints.
I had found many years ago that if you add this to a ship's .udf file, [UNIT] section, you could create the "Flying Ship": Translate = 0,50,0 This translates the visual model 50 m higher and creates a ship flying above the surface of the sea. I have no idea if this makes you immune to torpedo attacks or screws up your opponent's gunfire, but it amusing nonetheless. I had hoped something similar would affect the F3 and F8 viewpoints but to no avail. Oh well, for now it is what it is . . . ![]()

old post, but if the central figure (0,50,0) makes the ship fly, then those are XYZ coordinates, meaning if you change the first figure to something like -5 (-5,0,0) the visual model will probably be placed further back. This might be a solution to the problem you're having. But I can't be certain, I haven't done any DC modding for over 10 years.
