YIPES: Most of the United States begins Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.
In the European Union, Summer Time begins and ends at 1:00 a.m. Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time). It begins the last Sunday in March and ends the last Sunday in October. In the EU, all time zones change at the same moment.

Default Interesting but stoopid fact:

I can SEE the Greenwich Meridian from my window (or at least a big stone marker showing where it crosses this rather remote road a fairly short distance from here) and on that same spot is a huge pole-mounted brazier (or beacon) which, along with others strung out across country and within sight of one another, is set ablaze on special occasions, such as on the night of the millenium.

Setting light to a string of brassieres across the country to mark special occasions? Isn't that a bit much?

Utah had a movement in the legislature to do away with DST. It was rejected. "Needs more study".

I always feel robbed when this happens. Why can't they advance the clocks on friday just before quitting time? Why does it have to steal an hour from our weekend!

Get an hour in the fall, give it back in the spring.

I think we can agree that at this time of year, some people react better than others...
