Gday subbers
Returning from an absence and trying to get up to speed with where the mods are at I need guidance please on how to configure uplay for mods in SH5. It used to be turn it to offline mode, and prevent via TDWs patcher and disabling orbit DRM etcetc all so as far as I know, to prevent uplay from modifying the game files during gameplay such as what can happen to messed up dates from the equipment mod fixes With the mega mod released I was trying to get support here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...postcount=1089 But unfortunately it looks as though no support is available When this bloke who did the megamod released his modpack, he had TDWs patchers set to enable the orbit listener. Now when uplay is set to offline mode, I cant get the game to run its says its in offline mode and bounces me back to the main menu. So do I have to now enable uplay to be online, and dont enable any of TDWs mods for the orbit listener, and if so, will that wreck the equipment fixes and dates available? |

Since no one seems to know I tried some experiments
Reverted back to the mega mods TDW patcher snapshot and restored that Then I enabled Uplay online mode This atleast allowed me to run the game, as in start a new campaign and actually get into it Im yet to reach the harbour to see if my career points is all ok, further testing to do One negative with this setup is that Uplay said "downloading game files" and I dont know what files it downloaded, or indeed if it was SH5 files or just uplay files. Time will tell I guess in testing |

also returning from an absent, never heard of this problem though?
i heard there was a "no uplay / no online" patcher or something like this, but never made use of it.. nor sure what that "uplay game file" is that's being downloaded, does the same for me.. i assume its rather a validation file than real in-game data? Either way i played with tons of mods/patches from here back then, never had a uplay blocker or whatever [so uplay always downloaded that "game file"] and never had a problem of something not working afaik... different story in my current install, but im confident it only is a matter of tweaking the mod activation sequence rather than uplay being messing around... i'd give it a shot without that uplay block thingy as well if i was you... |
