Default Mods Advice

I have downloaded Real Fleet Boat and Trigger Maru. I know they cannot run together, but what modded version would be best to install, also is there a way of saving my unmodded steam game so I can keep a playable backup?.

I would also like to know if there are any addon ships I can use with either mod

Thanks

I've found the following threads to be quite helpful.

I use RFB and the RSRDC mod. Some of the mods have patches, which you can normally find in the mod thread.

The RSRDC mod has a significant number of extra ships. It also scripts shipping in a historical way - very different than the stock game. There are separate versions for RFB, TMO, and stock. It is very popular here.

Both RFB and TMO are good mods. TMO is more difficult for the player.

I'm sure you will get many suggestions as to what mods to use.
