DW of course and I mean hydrodynamic propulsion , everytime I open the engine hatch the passive sonar will get some noise

Is this the one you are talking about?

[EDIT]I don't have any Red October mission in DW or the RA mod. But the RA does have a fictional playable Red October sub which I tried in the quick missions.

I played around with it just now. That is because you are increasing speed. Above 12 knots the bow sonar suffers from flow noise. Above 8 knots the hull array suffers from flow noise. Seems pretty normal to me. (for a fictitious platform)

It's much like riding a bicycle down hill. You may be going fast, and are fairly quiet compared to cars around you. But the rushing of the wind around your ears makes you quite deaf. Speed always comes at a price.

Yes, I know what you mean but the passive sonar still gets noise when I set ALL STOP , raise up ems or raise up others also make that happen.

Active hydrodynamic propulsion must be opened the engine hatch first , open hatch = raise up snorkel

I noticed that too. But I thought it was only using the controls to activate it (because of no new buttons/switches could be made or something). And not actually modeling extending the snorkel with it's effects.

I wish they provided a bit more documentation with the mod about the things they changed and implemented. It's not very clear how it must be operated, and it's drawbacks.

Can use data base editor to fix it?

I don't know. I have hardly any experience with this mod. I can't remember if the database editor has a noise value for the snorkel. Try it and test if it works.

Help

If this will help, you can only use passive sonar effectively when you are below 5 knots. Any higher speed will make too much engine noise and you cannnot hear very much.
