no sound?

I have seem to lost sound on my game. I tied a new install and still no joy. Any sugestions?

Time for new speakers?
(I need some new ones myself...)
I have sound troubles with the game from time to time. Usually when saving, on certain screens, when the save menu disappears, so does my engine noise. I have to select a new speed or make some kind of change (no matter how small) and things go back to 'normal'.
