RIP Carla Laemmle

I am chagrined that I missed this one.

Another one of our small number of surviving Silent Movie actors died.

On 12 June 2014, Rebekah Isabelle "Carla" Laemmle died at the age of 104.

She was the niece of Universal Pictures founder Carl Laemmle.

She was the last surviving cast member from the 1925 Phantom of the Opera and the 1931 Dracula.

In the movie Dracula, she had the first lines spoken in that movie. "I had the privilege of speaking the first lines of dialogue in the first talking supernatural thriller".

Not bad looking at 100 years old either

I probably won't look that good even if I make it to a 100 no less 104
