Default Breaking news... Kurdish Oil anchored off Texas

Kurds looking for a buyer. Bagdad not happy. Iraq falling apart.

(Reuters) - A tanker carrying crude oil from Iraqi Kurdistan was anchored near the Port of Galveston, Texas, and must undergo a routine safety inspection by the U.S. Coast Guard on Sunday before it can unload its cargo, an official said.

Iraq as a nation seems to be a thing of the past.

As a legal entity they're still in business. Their lawyers have been running from nation to nation trying to tie the sale from these Kurdish chartered tankers up in legal knots. However, the Kurds did manage to sell a consignment to Israel recently, since Iraq still has no relations with Israel, legal or otherwise.

I'm surprised they haven't tried to sell it to China. They would likely take the whole load with no questions asked, other than "Who we write check to?"

That reminds me of something. Neal if you ever visit Kentucky try to stop by Red State Barbecue. That place has BBQ that rivals the best in Texas!(Texans who've visited the place have said it's the best they've ever had.)

It's done well to last almost a 100 years, but the lines that we drew were pretty screwy in the first place. Now we're seeing the fall out.

Given a choice between living in Iraq and living in Texas, they would probably choose Iraq.

I think the Kurds from Northern Iraq would much prefer selling oil to the US than China.

They've got guns in Texas, and they probably won't just throw them down and run the other direction.

Looks like the party's over. Iraq's legal eagles have swooped in.

Iraq persuaded a U.S. judge to order the seizure of $100 million of oil inside a tanker anchored off Galveston, Texas, that it claims was illegally pumped from wells in Kurdistan
