Hey,
looking for some advice on where to start changing crew commands and UI options for them, scenario as follows.... I'm lurking under the waves, a nice juicy prize in sight, it's dark, weather is bad, waves are choppy, I have a bearing, but steadimeter is useless in these conditions. I tell my weapons officer to lock scope to target, I ask my sonar operator to lock onto the target. Both comply eagerly, anticipating the soon coming victory. I then ask my hydrophone operator for an estimated range, or even better, an actual range. No response. I try again, no respone I have to literally get off my ass, run down two sets of ladders, push past my guys in the command room, thru to the next section, push him off his station and do it myself. (and yes, I know about teleporting) Once I have my range, I slap my next to useless sonar operator and go back to my scope, knowing damn well I'll have to come back down and do his job again in 5 minutes. ![]() now, when I'm on a target at my scope, these hydro commands are there in the UI, but quite obviously greyed out and inaccessible. Reading through the many pages of update notes on these UI's, it appears this procedure has been set in place by TDW himself, for extra immersion. I want to change it so that my sonar guy gives me the range while I'm at the scope, otherwise whats the point of him being able to lock onto it ? does anyone have any ideas where this option or coding is within the UI files? I've looked in the patcher and the options editor, but I think I need to go deeper into the actual UI files thanks for any help Six |
