Default Submarines of WW1, 100 years ago.

As we are soon, around the World about to, over the next fours years, 1914 - 1918, pay our respects, to all those who fought that war. Whether one came home, or more to the point those who didn't. (and those that did, carried many scars, that could not easily, be healed.)

Let's not forget them, Sailor, Soldier, Airmen. (Nurses and others, too.)

If I may just put in for the Australian Navy side of things, as of the beginning of WW1.

Subs and crew of AE1 and AE2. (and those that came after them.)

Some of you may know, one of them is still lost at sea, with all hands, off the coast of Papua New Guinea area.

(let us, hope she can be found, so as to formally, note her resting place and that of it's crew.)

As far as I understand it, from memory never got to enter the war.

The other, hassled it's enemy, over the areas, of the Gallipoli.

(Had their radio worked properly, as it had problems. a message they where sending to Command, may have assisted those, about to land on the Gallipoli shores.)

May even, had said not to land?

Had some success, then was boldly, caught by the Allies enemy.

However, their Commander Stoker, had scuttled her, to prevent falling into enemy hands. (She is now, a museum piece, I believe in that country.)

But, let us remember those, who did not make it.

Not just, then in WW1, but for the Wars that came after, too.
(And current, conflicts, too.)

It is sad that we just can't learn to live and respect each other, even in this day and age. Then, there would be no need for war, anywhere, anytime.

Lest We Forget.
(to all who are not here, today. Even those of a generation or so, ago.)
