(Facepalm) The Brits get the news before us

I had forgotten the British get the news of the war before we do.

Memo to self.... don't follow Brit convoys too closely on 3 September.

British ships get the notification that war is on before we do (if you follow the radio messages). So that A&B class escort from that convoy you have been trailing for 3 days at 14K meters will, if you are not paying attention, soon be at 8K and closing with intent.

No harm done, though. I lost him, reacquired the convoy, and took out the Auxiliary Cruiser. And I am going to follow them to America if I need to, because the convoy is full of fat targets and I have not played SH3 in four or five months.

Another friendly piece of advice to welcome you back:

Always remember to activate the plotted course when sailing from port. I've planted my bow in the east bank of Kiel Fjord so many times, BdU now requires me to physically man the conn until well out to sea!

Which is why I always opt for the 2nd Flotilla out of Willy.
