I just finished the "British Supplies" mission off England's east coast. I sank about double the required tonnage after resupplying one time at Jutland.
I docked, ended the mission, and was looking over the map for a mission for my second patrol. The only available mission was for the western approaches. Only problem is.... I only had 50% fuel remaining when I arrived on station off western England. That means I had no fuel reserves for combat operations and had to head straight back to base. I traveled all the way there(and back) at 4 knots. Avoided all contacts enroute to save on fuel. (I knew it was going to be a problem.) So my question is : How do you guys deal with this? How in the world will I ever be able to sink the required 100,000 tons without enough fuel? Is there some way to refuel off the English west coast that I don't know about...I wouldn't think so. I could turn off limited fuel but that idea stinks. BTW...I did see a mission for "Blockade of Germany" listed on the patrol map..... but this was after I started the western approaches mission. It was not availble as a selection when I requested the western approaches mission.(I reloaded the mission briefing and checked..it was not there as a selection) Thanks for any insight into this.
