Running GWX 3rd patrol everything OK except no ammunition for deck gun, Help please
Last patrol had U GUNv5 in JSME and found it a bit over the top. every ship I encountered on the surface including a 12 vessel convoy on manning deck gun sunk all with a rapid fire 16 ships in all and only one torpedo for entire patrol a bit over the top if you ask me I have taken it off for next patrol this is when I found no ammo for gun |

You have to load the gun first by clicking once on the bullet icon if it helps.

In order to make this work, you first have to man the deck gun, then click on the shell to load the 1st round. I do this routinely before or while leaving port for patrol. Your gun will auto-reload and will always be ready to fire for the rest of the patrol.
You don't have to do this with flak guns; they're loaded with AA shells by default. If you want to change to armor piercing, you'll need to man the gun, then click on the desired shell type. None of the above is historically accurate; it's just the way the programmers coded the game. Guns had to be manually loaded and unloaded each time.
